The chairman of the U.S. central bank (Fed), Janet Yellen, estimated that the U.S. economy is “on a path to solid growth” in the second quarter, in a speech on Wednesday in Congress.

He further argued that although I have an unemployment rate down from 6.3%, the conditions of the labor market “are far from satisfactory” and “complacent monetary policy remains justified,” Yellen said at an economic Committee of Congress, Agence France Press reports.

The official also said that the stagnation in the first quarter, with growth of just 0.1% in annual projection compared to the same period last year, “mainly reflects temporary factors, including the effects of the unusually cold winter and snow.”
