New York is a hub for many airlines. Intercontinental flights usually arrive at JFK or Newark, LaGuardia use mostly domestic flights. How do you get from the airport to Manhattan? How much does it cost?

John F. Kennedy International Airport

The largest airport in New York, the simple code JFK. The airport is quite far from the center in Queens. The simplest way to deal with public transportation to Manhattan is the AirTrain that connects to the underground network. A single ticket costs $ 5 and the journey takes 10 minutes. AirTrain runs 24 hours a day.

Newark Liberty International Airport

This airport is located in New Jersey, the state next to New York. The code is EWR. It is often cheaper to fly here. The connection to Manhattan is just as good, if not easier, than from JFK. Newark travel is the same as described below.

AirTrain + NJ Transit
The AirTrain runs 24 hours a day between the airport and train with NJ Transit. Day Trains run every three minutes from 5:00 am to midnight (from 07:00 pm on Sundays). In the night, the train runs every 15 minutes.

Take the free AirTrain to the station at the airport. Here you can buy a ticket for the whole route: $ 15 ($ 11.25 for children and seniors). You need this card to show twice: at the station at the airport and to the conductor on the NJ Transit section. The trip to New York Penn Station takes 50 minutes. NJ Transit On weekdays a train every 20 minutes between 6:00 to 21:00 am and every half hour from 21:00 to 00:00 hours. The trains do not run between 02:00 to 05:00 hours.

AirTrain + + NJ Transit PATH
If you do not want to get off at Penn Station in Lower Manhattan, but should be, or if you want to pay less, you can consider doing.
