No spectator was injured
An old twin plane crashed Sunday while participating in an air show in northern California attended by thousands.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the plane crashed in an open field away from spectators at 2:05 pm at the Travis Air Force Base in Solano County. A column of black smoke rose from the wreckage of the plane, while the crowd was evacuated from the base.
The National Transportation Safety Board will lead an investigation.
